School Dinners

Children at Hale Nursery & Primary Academy can choose to have a hot school meal, bring a packed lunch or switch between the two. We have an excellent on-site kitchen providing nutritious, healthy meals prepared by our catering company, Dolce Catering.

All school meals must be ordered online through School Grid and can be booked up until 8.55am on the day they are required. You can book weekly, monthly or termly if you wish.

Parents must ensure that any allergy information or special dietary requirements are recorded on School Grid. If your child has an allergy or requires a special diet, medical evidence must be uploaded to School Grid before a special meal plan can be provided.

Cost

School meals are FREE for all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils.

If your child is in Year 3 or above, the cost per meal is currently £3.00.

Your child may be entitled to a Free School Meal, please speak in confidence to a member of the School Office.

Packed Lunch

If your child brings a packed lunch, we encourage healthy choices and ask that you do not include chocolate, sweets or fizzy or caffeinated drinks. We are also a nut-free school, so please ensure that your child's lunchbox doesn't include items containing nuts - this includes:

Spreads - nutella/peanut butter/almond spread

Bars - nakd bars

Cakes ie Cherrybake well

Packet of nuts

Break snacks

Children are asked to have healthy break snacks. Crisps, chocolate and cakes are not advisory.

Snacks can include:

• Cheese ie babybel/Dairylea dippers
• Fruit or vegetables
• Breadsticks
