Outdoor Clothing:
We go outside in all weathers and this can sometimes result in children getting wet or muddy. It is essential for the development of young children’s learning to be able to explore the different elements the outdoors has to offer. Therefore, children need to be prepared for all kinds of weather:
• Wellington boots (clearly named and to be kept at Nursery)
• Waterproof jacket
• Hats, scarves, gloves (weather depending)
• Sunhats (please put sun cream on before the children come to Nursery)
Change of Clothes:
As children play, explore and discover, they can get very dirty, wet and muddy. Keeping them warm and dry is fundamental to their well-being. Therefore, a spare change of clothes to be kept in school is essential. These clothes should be kept in a named drawstring bag on their peg. If clothes do come home to be washed - please ensure that they are returned to Nursery the next day.
EVERY ITEM OF CLOTHING SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME
General Information:
Nappy Changing & Toilets
All of our staff are committed to supporting you and your child as they become trained to use the toilet. If your child is using nappies, please ensure that we always have a supply of nappies, wipes and nappy sacks available at school. We are always available to offer advice and support as your child makes the transition to become toilet trained and we will work closely with you through this process. Please see Intimate Care Policy in the Policy Section of the website.
Illness & Medicines
If your child is unwell, we would request that they remain at home until they are well and stay off Nursery for at least 48 hours after the last occurrence of any sickness or diarrhoea. Please phone the school office to let us know of any absence on the first day of the absence.
Accidents & Injuries
We have designated first aiders in Nursery who have undergone paediatric First Aid training. This training is updated regularly. Any accidents that occur in Nursery will be logged on an accident report form and copies will be stored in the school office. In cases of emergencies, staff will follow the normal school policy of phoning for support and if necessary, medical assistance from an ambulance.
Allergies
If your child has any special dietary requirement please make sure that you let a member of staff know. We taste a variety of food and cook different food types on a regular basis.
